Our favourite New York Fashion Week moment: The Wonder Woman of Vogue takes on Disney Villain Ursula

Did you see what (we think) was easily the most epic moment of New York Fashion Week this year?

All our Disney dreams – which were ironically, also our childhood nightmares – came true as The Blonds revealed their Disney Villains-inspired couture on the catwalk.

There were devilishly beautiful and diva-ish takes on Snow White’s Evil Queen, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and 101 Dalmatians’ Cruella De Vil.

But the ultimate mic drop moment was the absolutely slaying trans model Leiomy Maldonado in a Little Mermaid’s Ursula-esque leotard number.

Known as the ‘Wonder Woman of Vogue’ Leiomy stunned the FROW, and the internet, by performing an incredible dip in Louboutins at the end of the catwalk.

This wasn’t the first time a high-end designer has collaborated with Disney, which goes to show that – just like the rest of us – even sophisticated, mature adults with big bank balances don’t really want to grow up.

These are our favourite Disney fashion clothing collaboration moments from …

But there are plenty of catwalk looks from the likes of Dior, Elie Saab, Valentino, and Chanel that could also have been inspired by Disney characters (even if they haven’t admitted it), as these couture looks illustrate.

The Lady Boys of Bangkok could definitely pull of ALL of these stunning creations.

They’ve taken inspiration from Disney this year, with their Mary Poppins routine...

Will you be seeing Mary Poppins Returns when it’s released this Christmas? Which other Disney film would you love to see the Lady Boys turn into a routine?

The Blonds are a designer duo famed for their sparkling, jewel-encrusted corsets, and the list of mega stars The Blonds have created costumes for is insane. Our highlights include…

And finally…

Yes, this was the song she once fell over to at the BRITs...

Turns out the Queen of Pop is also apparently The Blonds’ favourite blonde!

And we think Madonna would definitely have approved of Leiomy’s ‘Vogueing’ at Fashion Week.

The Lady Boys of Bangkok are currently performing at Times Square in Newcastle. For all tour dates and to book tickets, click here
