The Lady Boys of Bangkok People's Choice Award 2019: cast your vote!

If you've seen  The Lady Boys of Bangkok 's incredible 21st anniversary production, The Greatest Showgirls Tour in 2019, you'll know that our cast - including some of the world's most beautiful showgirls (who just happen to be men!) - really pulled out all the stops to make this year's show the glitziest and most glamorous yet! In 2019 we popped the champagne to welcome four new cast members, including Dew, Lilly, Arthur, and the UK's only dwarf drag queen, Jamie John. They joined popular performers from last year's Wonder Women tour Amy, Bombay, Jennifer, Naomi, Nat, Nikky, Oak, Ole, Mr Sak, Sonya, Steven and Thierry to pay tribute to some of the biggest divas of all time.  Every year we dish out awards for the top cast members... and it's that time again! This Weekend, millions of people around the world will be celebrating Chinese New Year . The 2017 Chinese New Year will begin this Saturday on the 28th of January.  The reason why it falls later than what we know as 'New Year' is because it follows the Lunar Calendar - the beginning of a new moon. Because of this, the Chinese New Year is on different dates every year. In Chinese tradition each year is named after one of twelve animals .  This year, 2017 is the year of the Rooster .  According to Chinese belief , the year of the Rooster will bring good health and energy to 2017. Those who are born in this Chinese year are said to be; beautiful, kind hearted, hardworking, courageous, independent, humorous and honest.  Chinese New Year is celebrated across the globe with feasting, family parties and the famous Lantern Festivals and parades. Shrewsbury Theatre Severn

Continuing exploring the beautiful venues in which some of our shows will be gracing over the next year, we hop over to Shrewsbury and their Theatre Severn . On the 5th and 6th February 2013, the Chinese State Circus will be taking to the stage in this gorgeous West Midlands market town. A relatively new landmark in Shrewsbury, only being officially opened in March 2009, the Theatre Severn is located on Frankwell Quay, which is a beautiful riverside location situated on one of the main gateways to the town. {source}

All About Angola!

If you follow the Chinese State Circus on Facebook , then you're already aware that the show has been going down a treat during their début performances in Angola ! The African premier of the   production "Mulan" opened on Friday 30th November, and has been an amazing experience for all involved. The Chinese State Circus was honoured to be part of making history - being the first international entertainment Angola has hosted in over 40 years!
