The best of The Brits and The Baftas 2018

The awards season is now in full flow and this week we've had the two big events in the British awards ceremony calendar. On Sunday night The Bafta Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall, and last night The Brits ceremony went ahead at the O2 Arena.

Let's take a look at some of the highlights from both events.

Best Dressed

The red carpet at these ceremonies is always abuzz with photographers and closely-watched by the high street fashion brands - all looking for fresh ideas from the glitz and glam celebrities and (more importantly) the top stylists who pick their outfits.

The Baftas – Lupita Nyong'o

Almost all of the stars work black at The Baftas, in honour of the Time's Up movement against sexual harassment. There were a lot of glamorous dresses from the Hollywood elite, but we loved this unusual Elie Saab Couture dress that Lupita Nyong'o arrived in.

The Brits – Dua Lipa

In contrast to the black outfits of the movie awards, The Brits opted for white roses in support of the Time's Up and Me Too movements. Dua Lipa – the winner of British Breakthrough Act and Best Female Solo Artist went BIG, with an eye-catching pink Giambattista Valli gown.

Best Moment

There were lots of moments to choose between – from inspiring speeches to exciting performances – but we decided that our favourite moments were the ones that made us smile, or made us laugh.

The Baftas – Timothee Chalamet melts our hearts

Star of Call Me By Your Name, Timothee Chalamet, already has a bit of a cult following online. But he surely won a few more hearts on Sunday when he leapt to 89-year-old James Ivory's aid to help him on stage to collect the award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Brits – Este Haim steals the spotlight

We couldn't help but laugh when we noticed Este, from the band Haim, in the background – video-bombing Liam and Cheryl!

Stars of the show

"We're all winners" is a sentiment often expressed. Whilst it's a sweet thought, it's never really the case – here are the stars who dominated the awards ceremonies.

The Baftas – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

It may not have the catchiest title, but Three Billboards was the clear winner here; raking in five awards on the night!

The Brits – Stormzy

Not only did he win British Album of the Year and British Male Solo Artist, but Stormzy also put on the most electrifying performance of the night, and made headlines with a politically-charged freestyle rap.

Which were you favourite moments of The Baftas and The Brits? Do you agree with the winners or did you feel like anybody was unfairly snubbed?
