July's Top Picks

FILM
Our film recommendation this month obviously has to be Incredibles 2 release date July 13! After 12 years of waiting how could it not be? We can’t wait to see the superhero family on the big screen once more!

MUSIC
Our July album pick is George Ezra’s Staying At Tamara’s. Following his debut album, Staying At Tamara’s is a beautiful second album that shows signs of maturity both musically and lyrically and takes you on a journey. The album is full of enough diversity to keep you hooked by each song whilst maintaining an easy listening flow. Perfect for the warm weather that seems to be continuing into July.

Why not listen to a live video of one of the albums tracks here:

ENTERTAINMENT
Shows to go and watch have to be our current shows on tour! We have The Lady Boys of Bangkok currently in Bristol who will be doing a short theatre tour before landing in Aberdeen. You can view the full list of dates here

We also currently have our show Spirit of The Horse on tour for the first time in 10 years! Europe’s greatest equestrian theatre show returns with a spectacular new production for 2018 Renaissance. Featuring horses from all over the world this show is gripping from start to finish and the perfect day out for horse lovers! Full tour dates can be found here

FOOD
As our Lady Boys are currently in Bristol we thought it was only fitting to pick a restaurant based in Bristol this month. Wilkes Restaurant is a modern and vibrant restaurant offering creative, refined cooking, as well as an attentive, knowledgeable service from friendly staff in a relaxed, elegant dining room. They champion all that is local - farmers, growers, suppliers. Every dish looks absolutely mouth watering and I'm sure our Lady Boys will be taking a trip there!

RECIPE
Griddled halloumi with watermelon & caper breadcrumbs – ‘This salad has a great interplay of textures, temperatures and flavours. Toss juicy watermelon with salty cheese, crispy breadcrumbs, capers, almonds and mint’ How refreshingly perfect does that sound in the warm summer, sit in your garden and enjoy the suns rays with this combination of sweet and salty healthy salad.

BEAUTY
Summer and foundation is a tricky one, your skin tone changes even if just slightly and the heat makes you want to avoid thick and cakey foundations. We went straight to Vogue to see what foundations their go to list.
